About
At Stronger Cyclist Coaching we strive to bring out the best in each cyclist using years of experience both in the gym and from the road/track to combine a cyclist that is lighter in weight, but much stronger! We do this by lowering body fat percentage and increasing leg strength. We do NOT use body building techniques – we use Functional techniques that forge legs into pistons.
With both personal training and cycling the pyramid model works best for achieving the highest possible peak fitness levels.
Aerobic base training must be the foundation that is laid as solid ground work for the rest of the pyramid to be built upon. Without this foundation layer the rest of the pyramid will more readily topple into overtraining.
The next layer of the pyramid has a broader range of strength, and muscle endurance. This is achieved through climbing, and timed Heart Rate/wattage based intervals.
The top layer is skill and speed, and when all these are built one upon the other, the solid peak of fitness is achieved!
Stephen was a part time body builder in college before cycling across America with PUSH America. This renewed a love of cycling and helping others along the way. After college Stephen worked in a bike shop and started racing. That was when he started racing, personal training, and learning the benefits of functional training. Luckily, all the knowledge that he used to gain a competitive advantage as a cyclist is able to transfer into information for all his training clients. He has been training Athletes for over 6 years.
